Comparing Careers

The cluster we had yesterday was Government and Public Administration. The two careers I had chosen were economics and climate change analysts. Today we have toj blog about the similarities between the careers we chose. For starters they were both in the same cluster. There is only one thing they have in common in the titles which is a research analysts. In the activities column there were a couple similarities like analyzing data or information, getting information, interacting with computers, and updating and using relevant knowledge. Then in tools and technology they both need a mainframe computer, scanners, and a notebook desktop. Knowledge, skills, and abilities probably have the most similarities out of all the columns. The similiarties in knowledge are english language, mathematics, and computers and electrons. In the skills there are writing, active listening, speaking, and critical thinking. Then in the abilities there are deductive reasoning and problem sensitively. Now there are only two in the interests column which are investigative and enterprising. They both have the same job training anf related experience. The job training is on-the-job training. The related experience is skill, knowledge, and experience. All of the education requirred are the same. The education requirred for both of them are a master's degree, a doctoral or professional degree, and a bachelor's degree. The work styles and the work values are the only two left. Innovation, integrity, persistence, attention to detail, and independence are all they had in common fo the work styles. In the work values they had independence and achievment in common. These are all the similarities between an economic and a climate change analyst.

True Color (people)

We are supposed to blog about the four true clolors and choose four friends and four teachers that match the four colors. The first color I am going to do is orange. I think the spanish teacher Mrs. Rigdon fits this color. I chose Mrs. Rigdon because she acts on a moment's notice and thats what orange means. The friend I am going to choose for orange is my friand Taylor. I chose Taylor because she considers life as a game sometimes. The next color is green. For green I chose Mrs. Wilson. Mrs. Wilson values intelligence, insight, integruty, and justice. The friend I chose was Alyssa. Alyssa needs explinations and answers. Gold is the next color. I think Mr. Boyars fits in with this clor. I chose Mr. Boyars because he has a strong sense od what is good and wrong in life. I think Erica goes with gold. Erica follows the rules and respects authority. The last true color is blue. Mrs. Keys is in with the blue. She looks for meaning and significance in life. The last friend I choose for blue is Alex. Alex needs t feel unigue and authentic. These are all the friends and teachers I have chosen to fit with these four true colors.

Arts Cluster

The two careers I chose for the arts and audio cluster where photogragher and fine artists, including painters, sculptors, and illistrators. Being a phtogragher you have to photogragh people, landscapes, merchandise, or other subjects, using digital or film camera and equipment. Being a fine artist you have to create original art work using any of a wide variety of media and techniques. These are the two careers I chose for this cluster.

The color I got was orange. All of the true colors have a meaning. Orange means that I act on a moment's notice. I consider life as a game, here and now. I need fun, varieguety stimulation, and excitement. I guess I could say orange fits me. My secondary colors are yellow, green and blue. Orange had the highest number, yellow and green were the same abd blue had the lowest number.

Business, management, and administration

This week we were given another cluster. This cluster is business, management, and administration. One of the careers I had chosen was an art director. Being an art director means that you have to formulate design concpets and presentation approaches for visual communicataions media, such as print, broadcating, and advertising. Art director isn't the only name for this job. A couple other names for this job is an art supervisor, create director, design director, and a group art supervisor. For you to do this job you have to have to the right education requirements. To be an art director you have to have a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and an associate's degree. The other career I chose was a financial analyst. Being a financial analyst means that you have to conduct quantative analyse of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. Some other names for this job are securities analysts, planning analyst, research analyst, and a real estate analyst. These are the two careers I have chosen for this cluster.

My Style of Learning

Yesterday I took a quiz on careercruising.com. This quiz was about finding my learning styles. Learning styles are the way you learn better. The three learning styles are visual, auditory, or tactile. My learning style was visual. Which means that I learn better by visualizing things. As a visual learner, I learn best when information is presented in written form or visually through diagrams or pictures. I guess I see myself as visual leaner. I think looking at diagrams and pictures is an easier way to learn so I now consider myself a visual learner. When I am reading I can visualize what is happening and I can see it as I go. This helps me understand what is going on in the book better. I will try to start being a better visual learner at school to help me through high school.

The past two days we have researched the jobs for architecture and construction. The two jobs I chose were painter and landscape architects. I didn't really connect to the landscape architect but I did connect to the painter. I like art and painting is a form of art. The job of a painter consists of painting certain things like houses, roads, buildings, and alot more. Being a landscape arhitect doesn't seem like something I would be. I chose it for a career to try new things and see what it was like. A landscaping architect is where you plan and design land areas for projects. These are the careers I have chosen for this week.
